Nicole Ari Parker has worked in film, TV as well as on stage. She was best known for playing Teri (the spirited lawyer) Joseph. Her name is currently her maiden name of Nikki Kodjoe. Contractor, a Mumbai-born Indian and who was a resident of Nigeria at the age of was seven years old, had a lot of knowledge about different cultures around the world and was able to travel at such a young stage. After attending boarding school for seven years in London Her family then moved to Toronto Canada where she lived for the majority of her childhood as well as her early years of adulthood. Then, in Toronto, Contractor excelled in academics, and was trained to become an classical ballerina. She studied at the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, a fine arts institution focused on theater and dance. Contractor began acting at age 16, following nearly 10 years of dancing. After she completed high school with a full scholarship for tuition to University of Toronto where she was a theatre student with a dual degrees in Sociology and Psychology. Contractor was offered the leading character in Pericles following a brief time at University. She was a part of the audition for the role during the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and won. The year 2002 was a great one for her. Canadian critics praised her performance in 92 performances of the play. She was given the chance to be a part of the Stratford Conservatory. The school allows only eight males and four woman to take a course in traditional theatre. Contractor was eager to accept. Contractor got a place in the next season of shows and eventually landed the role of Hermia In A Midsummer Night's Dream.
